Sadarnunna
Sadarnunna was a little known Sumerian goddess who was the consort of Nusku.
She lived in Nippur with Nusku where she had a sanctuary, the E.paddanunus, 'Chosen House of the Woman.'
Sala (see Shala)
Samnuha
A little known Assyrian god, most often associated with another little known Assyrian god, Gubaba.
Sebittu (see Iminbi)
Simut (also Shimut)
Simut, an Elamite god, was the patriotic god of a country that was very diverse, consisting of steppe and mountains. He was known as 'God of the Elamites.'
Sin (also Namrasit, Nanna, Nanna-Sin and Nanna-Suen)
Biblical Connection: Abram journeyed from Ur of the Kaldees to Haran in the land of Canaan and remained in Haran till his father died. (Genesis: 11:31-32) The Moon god, Sin, was the ancient tutelary deity of both cities.
Sin (possibly an abbreviation of Sumerian suen {zuen}: ZU=wise, EN=lord: Wise Lord) was the product of Enlil's rape of Ninlil. First called Nanna, the Moon god later came to be known as Nanna-Suen. The Akkadians shortened his name to Sin. *[ In my stories, I use 'Sin' as the name for the Moon god. ]*
Namrasit, a name sometimes used for the Moon god, means, 'Bright Rising.'
As the Moon god, Sin had a wife named Ningal. Together, they produced three children. All became prominent deities: Shamash, the Sun god, Ereshkigal, Queen of the Netherworld, and the youngest, Inanna (known as Ishtar in Semitic lands) who became Queen of Heaven.
Sin was tutelary god of the city of Ur in Chaldea where his temple, The E.kishnugal (sometimes written E.gishnugal), 'House of Great Light,' was located. He was also the tutelary deity of the city of Haran where his temple, E.hulhul, 'House Which Gives Joy,' was located.
Sin was an important god with numerous temples, shrines and sanctuaries scattered throughout Sumer and Akkad.

The Moon god's symbol was the crescent moon and his cryptographic number was 30.
Siyashum
Siyashum was a rather obscure Elamite goddess who held the position of 'Mistress of the Palace of the Gods' in Susa.
Sud (see Ninlil)
Supalitu (also see Inanna)
Supalitu was the name of Inanna at Zabalam.
*[ In my stories, when Inanna came down from the mountainlands, the first city that came under her control was Zabalam. To keep the other gods and goddesses unaware that she had left Aratta and descended to the plain of Sumer, she adopted the name, Supalitu. ]"
As Supalitu, Inanna established a number of temples. The most important was probably the temple in Uruk which was called the E.susugarra, 'House Where Meals are Served.'
